As decribed previously, Qt 5.4 had some issues. With the upcoming Qt 5.5 release the most severe ones should be solved (e.g. that the QML camera is not focusing):

EDIT 2014/04/21: After testing the QML camera module of qt 5.5 beta, the camera bug has indeed disappeared. The camera is focusing again :-), hurray! The autoOrientation bug is also gone with qt 5.5. As a result, the Qt QML camera module is back again in Android!!!
