For a while Qt 5.8.0 has been available but I have not been able to test it. I just checked it out now and my recommendation is NOT to upgrade to 5.8 if 5.7.1 still suffices.
In contrast to Qt 5.7.1 the new Qt 5.8.0 is not containing OpenSSL any longer, so that QSslSocket will not work properly unless you bundle your APK by hand with OpenSSL as described on the following page:
http://doc.qt.io/qt-5/opensslsupport.html
I’ve made a script which automates the above tasks:
https://sourceforge.net/p/libpong/code/HEAD/tree/libpong/android/openssl/
While this is no principle problem, it is definitely adding another hassle. This is not getting a thumbs up!
