UTM
Universal Transverse Mercator
A tilted version of the Mercator projection. Instead of using an upright projection cylinder, which touches the earth at the equator, the projection cylinder is tilted 90 degrees so that it touches the earth at a prime meridian.
The default UTM mapping defines 60 UTM zones with a width of 6 degrees longitude each. Each $zone\in[1,60]$ corresponds to a prime meridian at $6\cdot zone-183$ degrees longitude.
For example the zones 31 to 32 cover Germany from 6 to 18 degrees east.
